DHSC Athlete Named to 2006 13-15 National Team

Following team trials at the 2006 Canadian Espoir Synchronized Swimming Championships, Durham Synchro's Julia Maclean has been named to the 2006 13-15 National Team!

Following the Tier 6 15&U figures competition, the top 24 athletes qualified for trials, which took place on Saturday, June 10. In a second figures competition for these athletes, the top 10 athletes were selected to the team. Julia, who placed third in the final competition, secured her place with a figures mark of 71.322. Durham 's Carrie Mouck also qualified for the trials, and placed 20 th . Congratulations for a superb effort, Carrie!

Julia continues Durham Synchro's tradition of excellence. Last year, Tier 7's Katie LePage qualified for this team and travelled to Greece to compete. (See archived Club News stories)

On July 30, the team will meet in Montreal to prepare for the first annual ASUA meet from August 22-27 in Oaxtepec , Mexico (just south of Mexico City ).  Julia will leave for training in Mexico City on August 16.

Durham Synchro's three Tier 6 15&U athletes (Julia, Brianna MacLellan, Carrie Mouck) also competed at the Espoir Championships in figures, duet and solo events. Congratulations, girls, on your outstanding results this year at the 2006 Canadian Espoir Synchronized Swimming Championships!
