Hard Work Pays Off At 2006 Tier Championships

Tier 3/4 let their hair down at the 2006 Tier Championships banquet!

Congratulations to our 26 Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 athletes and their coaches, who have just returned from the 2006 Tier Championships in London , Ontario ! Their hard work over the past nine months paid off in excellent results in team, duet and figures competition.

Our Tier 1 team, coached by Sarah Rowe, qualified for finals by placing sixth out of 17 teams in preliminary competition and finished in seventh place. Congratulations!

Our Tier 2 team, coached by Rochelle Fernandez, finished 21st . Way to go, girls!

Our Tier 3 team, coached by Leslie Wickens, finished in fifth place out of 21 teams in preliminary competition, and maintained their position in the finals to take the fifth place podium finish. Well done!

Figures competition highlights included a bronze medal for Stephanie Geller (Tier 4 13&U) and 4th place for Ali Young (Tier 4 14&Over).

Our Tier 3 duet (Alycia Halyk & Rachel Nickerson) placed first in routine with a score of 61.000, and took the bronze medal overall. In Tier 4 duet competition, Stephanie and Ali placed sixth. Congratulations, girls!
