Durham Synchro Lands Swimmer on National Junior Team!
Durham Synchro's Tier 7 Jr. team has returned home from the 2007 Canadian Open Championships with some best-ever finishes as well as an athlete who has staked a claim to a position on one of Canada 's national teams!
Durham 's Julia Maclean has been named to the National Junior team. Finishing sixth in the country in figures helped Maclean to a spot on this prestigious squad, which will compete in Hawaii this summer at the U.S. Open Synchronized Swimming Championships.
Durham also placed a duet on the podium at the Canadian championships, with Katie LePage and Chelsey Matthews placing sixth in the finals of 23 duet teams from across Canada . In March, this team won the silver medal at the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse , Yukon .
In team, Durham Synchro's Tier 7 Jr. team placed 7 th out of 13 teams. Congratulations to: Stephanie Geller, Jessica Henry, Julia Maclean, Brianna MacLellan, Chelsey Matthews, and Alaina Wade.
