Durham Synchro Swimmers Attend 2007 East Regionals

Durham Synchro's up-and-coming swimmers recently attended the 2007 East Regionals competition in Nepean , Ontario , where they put down improved performances and brought home more experience as seasoned synchronized swimming competitors.

Congratulations to Durham 's Tier 1 team of: Kaitlin Bishop; Emma Campbell; Wenjing Deng; Meg Grylis; Madison Kitchener; and Amanda Lawrence. The team placed 4 th and were very happy with both their improved score and their result.

In Tier 1 figures, Wenjing placed 10 th ; Madison placed 12 th ; Amanda placed 14 th ; Emma placed 18 th ; Meg placed 19 th ; and Kaitlin placed 27 th (in Tier 2 figures).

Durham sent two Tier 2 teams to East Regionals. Congratulations to: Meagan Caulfield; Katrina Clissold; Lindsay Evelyn; Katie Gagnon; Julia Thornton; Vanessa Trajanos; and Kionna Whyte for their 4 th place finish.

Congratulations also go to: Shannon Blaney; Julia Ehrt; Lindsay Farrell; Ellen Hamilton; Logan Kitchener; Brittany Michaud; Ellen Ritchie; and Taylor Summers for their 7 th place finish in Tier 2.

In Tier 2 (12&U) figures, Julia Ehrt placed 4 th ; Katie Gagnon was 5 th ; and Shannon Blaney was 9 th . In Tier 2 (13&O), Brittany Michaud placed 3 rd ; Logan Kitchener placed 4 th , and Julia Thornton placed 9 th .

In Tier 3 competition, Sarah Rowe's team of Carly Byberg, Heather Clarke, Francesca DiPietro, Emily Harris, Annie Hodgins, Sarah Masters and Ashtyn Nauffts placed 4 th . In Tier 3 (12&U) figures, Sarah Masters placed 3 rd and Heather Clarke placed 4 th . The trio of Heather Clarke, Sarah Masters and Ashtyn Nauffts placed 9 th .

Tier 6's Rachel Nickerson and Alycia Halyk also attended this meet.  In Tier 6 (15&U) Rachel placed fourth in figures and Alycia placed 7th.  The girls finished first in their duet and Rachel placed first in her solo.  Congratulations, girls!

All four teams are looking forward to their upcoming 2007 Tier Championships, to be held from May 31 – June 3 at Nepean Sportsplex, near Ottawa .
