Durham Synchro on the Podium for Every Tier at the Lisa Alexander Meet
Durham Synchro swimmers shone at the Lisa Alexander Meet and none shone brighter than Julia Mclean who placed first in Tier 7 Figures!
Our athletes made the Durham Synchronized Swimming Club proud at the Lisa Alexander Figures Competition held in London on December 9 th. All of the girls in the competitive stream had a chance to put those hours of figures practice to the test in this first meet of the season. The results are amazing as Durham girls from every tier level claimed a place on the podium!
In Tier 7, Julia Mclean won first place! Her team-mate Carrie Mouck joined her on the podium with a fifth place finished. Other strong results from the tier 7 swimmers were Brianna McLellan (12), Courtney Durand (17) and Alaina Wade (23).
In Tier 6 competition Stephanie Geller claimed second place in a highly competitive field of over 100 swimmers. Durham had 21 swimmers compete at this level. Other top 20 results were: Jessica Henry (9), Rachel Nickerson (13), and Alycia Halyk (14). Berkley-Anne Soderstrom (36), Brooke Manson (40), Carly McCagherty (45) Logan Kitchener (52), Alex Opydo (53), Lindsay Dawson (55), Hannah Koke (59), Ashtyn Nauffts (69), Amber Steele (74), Sarah Masters (83), Brittany Michaud (88), Katherine Gagnon (92), Vanessa Trajanos (93), Heather Clarke (94), Francesca DiPietro (97), Kionna Wyte (98), and Carly Byberg (100).
In Tier 3 where all swimmers were new to the Tier 3 figures, Julia Ehrt claimed a sixth place podium finish in the 12 & Under category. Shannon Blaney (8), Ellen Hamilton (16) and Amber Mealing (18) rounded out the category. In Tier 3 13 & Over, our results were also strong with Julia Thornton (23), Ellen Ritchie and Lindsay Farrell (32) and Brooke Stevens (36).
Our winning ways continued in Tier 2 where Wenjing Deng placed third and Megan Caulfield place fifth for podium results. Tyerra Lowe (12), Sarah Thompson (23), Madison Kitchener (28) and Sarah Walsh (43) competed in the 12 & Under category and, Kaitlin Bishop placed 7th among the 13 and over swimmers.
Finally in Tier 1, Meg Grylls captured second place. Kristyn Davies (14), Emma Campbell (16), McKenzie Broad (25), Ellie Kozak (38), Reyanne Padgett (40), and
Samantha Low (46) were strong in the field of 62 swimmers.
