Durham Synchro on Podium Again at Tier Championships Meet

The Durham Synchronized Swim Club continued its successful year with many athletes earning a podium spot at the 2008 Tier Championship Meet held in Etobicoke, May 29 - June 1st. Our Tier 1, Two and Three teams demonstrated the results of hard work and team commitment.

The Tier 1 Team of McKenzie Broad, Emma Campbell, Kristyn Davies, Meg Grylls, Elizabeth Kozak, Samantha Low, and Reyanne Padgett, under coach Katie LePage, earned the Bronze Medal in routine. An impressive three swimmers placed in the top 6 for Tier 1 figures: Meg Grylls - 1st place, Krystin Davies - 2nd place, and Reyanne Padgett - 6th place. Congratulations to all on such an outstanding  year.

The Tier 2's, coached by Rochelle Fernandez, finished in 9th place overall in team. Wenjing Deng claimed 3rd place in figures. The entire team of Kaitlin Bishop, Meagan Caulfield, Wenjing Deng, Madison Kitchener, Tyerra Lowe, Sara Thompson, and Sarah Walsh are to be commended on their successful year.

Coach Sarah Rowe's Tier 3 team also finished in 9th place for routine. The duet team of Brooke Stevens and Julia Thornton garnered an impressive 4th place. Tier 3 also had some impressive showings in individual figures - Amber Mealing placed 2nd in the 12 & Under competition, while Lindsay Farrell placed 12th in the 13 & Over category.
