Another Meet; Another Fantastic Showing for Durham Synchro

Provincial Championships in Etobicoke Feb. 13-15 proved highly successful for the Tier 6 and 7 swimmers from the Durham Sychro Club.
In T7 competition our girls faced the additional challenge of competing without their highly valued team mate, Julia Maclean. Despite a valiant effort, Julia was simply too sick to compete. The remaining seven swimmers rallied in spectacular fashion to claim the GOLD! Congratulations to Holley Lundmark and her determined group of athletes: Stephanie Geller, Jessica Henry, Alycia Halyk, Brianna MacLellan, Brooke Manson, Carrie Mouck and Rachel Nickerson.
Our Tier 7 team of Francesca DiPietro, Hannah Koke, Carly McCagherty, Brittany Michaud, Alex Opydo, and Berkley Soderstrom under new coaches Leslie Wickens and Debbie Sands, captured 6th place.
In T7 solo action, our ladies finished a fantastic 3,4,5! Carrie Mouck, Jessica Henry and Brianna MacLellan are to be congratulated on their outstanding efforts. The duet of Stephanie Geller and Jessica Henry claimed an impressive 3rd place finish in their first year of Tier 7 competition. Carrie (3rd) and Jessica (5th) added podium figure finishes to their list of accomplishments.
Our T6 duet of Alycia Halyk and Rachel Nickerson captured first place in a highly competitive field of teams. Congratulations as well go to Alycia for a 3rd place finish in T6 figures and Rachel for her 6th place podium finish in T6 solo.
