Tier 7 Teams Swim to a Fitting Finale

At the Canadian Open Synchronized Swimming Championship 2009 held in Quebec City, Durham’s two Tier 7 teams swam well in their final outings of the season.

Coach Debbie Soderstrom’s T6/7 team, saved their best swim of the season for the end. Swimmers Francesca DiPietro, Hannah Koke, Brittany Michaud, Carly McCagherty, Alexandra Opydo and Berkley Soderstrom finished 10th in competition finals.

Holley Lundstrom’s T6/7s swam to a 7th place finish in Team finals. Stephanie Geller, Alycia Halyk, Jessica Henry, Brooke Manson, Julia Maclean, Brianna MacLellan, Carrie Mouck, and Rachel Nickerson proved a formidable team over the entire season and finished with a very strong swim in this final meet.

Special routines figured highly on this team with Julia Maclean claiming 4th place in T7 Solo finals. Preliminary results in this competition saw Carrie Mouck finish 16th, Jessica Henry came 18th and Brianna MacLellan claimed 20th in her last Canadian Open Competition.

In duet competition, Julia Maclean and Carrie Mouck finished on the podium in 4th place in finals. T7 phenoms, Stephanie Geller and Jessica Henry finished 11th in preliminary action.
