Durham Synchro is Bigger, Better and Brimming with Pride

Still a month away from the first competition, Durham has already racked up some impressive results for the new season! Our annual Burning Bright for Breast Cancer fundraising event was a success once again. This fundraising effort is always a worthy cause and a great occasion for our athletes to work and play together. The 40 Durham participants raised nearly $800 to contribute to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation in concert with other synchro clubs in Canada.

At the recent Synchro Canada AGM, Durham Synchro was named as the second Most Successful Synchro Club in the country. The award is based on Synchro Canada criteria of “growth of the club in the last two years, number of competitions attended, the number of athletes that qualified for a national team and the number of coaches [a club] had certified during the past season.” This is just one more accolade for Durham synchro and is proudly added to the honours already accumulated over the past year: Ontario Coach of the Year, Holley Lundmark; Volunteer of the Year, John Mouck; and Althlete of the Year, Brianna McLellan.
