Durham Rec Swimmers Frequent Flyers on the Podium at Synchro Ontario Meet

At the recent Recreational Synchro Meet hosted by Synchro Ontario, our Durham Athletes achieved outstanding results in figures and LTAD (Long Term Athlete Development) events.

All of our 18 participants and their coaches were excellent ambassadors for Durham Synchro by displaying a winning attitude and strong determination. In the 6 yr old category, Sophie Leach podiumed at 6th place in figures and 4th in the 25 m swim. 7 yr old Jessica Vautour placed 3rd in both figures and the speed event while 8 yr olds, Lauren Campbell and MacKenzie Tassone placed 10th and 17th respectively in figures and  7th and 14th in the 25 m swim.

In the 10&U event, 9 yr olds Hannah Vautour (4th), Genevieve Thornton (5th), Kennedy Murray (8th), Kailee Tomovski (13th) and Sophie White (21st) competed in a very strong field. Kennedy Murray and Hannah Vautour also achieved podium results in the LTAD 50m swim placing 3rd and 5th respectively. 10 yr olds Tara Aune (10th) and Alison Harper (11th)  rounded out the field achieving 6th and 8th in the 50 m swim.

Our 11, 12 and 13 year old swimmers all appeared on the podium! Cassidy Murray achieved an impressive 2nd in figures and Rhiannon Major achieved 5th place. Victoria Wight (11th in figures) captured a podium-worthy 5th place in the 100m endurance swim!!  Our 12 year old swimmers Caitlin Schropp and Kathleen Fung finished an outstanding 2nd and 3rd in both figures and the 100m. Rounding out the field was Karissa Schippers who captured 2nd place in the 13 yr. old novice category.
