Durham Synchro Rec Team’s Top 20 Splash In Orangeville Recreational Competition

On Saturday, November 21, 2009 competitors from several provincial recreational clubs gathered at the Alder St. Pool in Orangeville for the Synchro Swim Ontario Novice (Recreational) Figure Competition hosted by Synchro Swim Ontario. Under the guidance of coaches Julia Thorton and Michelle Lopers, Cassidy Murray, Kennedy Murray and Christina Tsoukas swam to the top 20 of the leader board in Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD).

In the 10 Year Old and Under Division, Kennedy Murray ranked 4th in Figures out of a total of 61 competitors. Kennedy continued on to place 5th out of 61 during the 50M Free Time Trial swim. Applause to you, Kennedy!

Cassidy Murray, competing in the 11-12 Year old Division, showed grace and speed under pressure placing an impressive 2nd in Figures and 7th out of 49 competitors in the 100m Free Time Trial. She received a Bronze in Splits. Way to go Cassidy!

Also competing in the 11-12 Year Old Division, Christina Tsoukas, demonstrated fluidity in and out of the water placing a well deserved 17th in Figures out of 49 competitors and receiving a 3rd place finish in the 100M Free Time Trial. Well done Christina!
