Recreational and Competitive Programs
Durham Synchro Club runs Recreational and Competitive programs aimed at swimmers ages 5 years and older. While not solely focused on competition, DSC's Recreational Programs introduce swimmers to the fundamentals of synchronized swimming and assist those swimmers who wish to improve or add to already existing swimming skills.
The Provincial and National Level Competitive Programs are for those athletes with prior synchronized swimming experience. Spending approx. 7 hours or more of practice time in the pool per week, Provincial and National level swimmers will also compete in a minimum of 3 competitions per season within Ontario including a number out of town. For National level teams, out of province travel for competitions is to be expected.

| Tryouts |
At the end of each synchro season, swimmers from the recreational and competitive programs will have the option of trying out for positions on the provinicial or national level teams. To be considered for the national teams, swimmers must have prior synchronized swimming experience and the recommendation of the Head Coach. Attendance at Tryouts does not automatically guarantee a placement on a competitive team. |
| Annual Water Show |
At the end of each season, DSSC recreational and competitive teams perform in a well orchestrated production highlighting the talent and skills of all swimmers. The water show features all soloists, duet and teams performing routines choreographed to music. Competitive swimmers will perform routines they have created for competitions. In addition, swimmers may create special routines for this annual event. This event is also a fundraising opportunity for the club and tickets are available for purchase at a minimal cost |
| Competitions |
| Throughout the season, provincial and national level teams will travel to local, regional, provincial and national meets and invitationals. On occasion, some competitive teams will travel outside of the country to represent DSSC. Out of town travel and hotel stays may be necessary. All meets and invitationals follow the strict guidelines established by Synchro Swim Ontario and Synchro Canada. |
